He is currently the Managing Partner of ECOVIS Mendez Sagastume 6 Associates. Previously, he was Partner of Baker Tilly 2 years, Moore Stephens International 2 years, Acting Partner of Deloitte (4 years). Manager in PWC (10 years), and before in Andersen. For 5 years he served as CEMEX’s corporate controller, in charge of accounting, taxes, consolidation and financial reporting SOX, COSO-RM, JD-SAP Implementation. Byron has 31 years of professional experience, has developed external audits, implementation of IFRS for the first time, evaluation of internal controls and participation in due diligence, diagnosis, design and implementation of accounting systems, external and internal audits, evaluation of departments of internal audit, among others.
He has worked in countries such as: Mexico, Central America, Panama and Colombia. Main industries in which he has developed his professional experience: energy, resources, Consumption, Agroindustry, Education, telecommunications, automotive, pharmaceutical and media.
He is a Certified Public Accountant and Auditor graduated from the University of San Carlos, has a Master’s Degree in Applied Economics and Business Administration from Texas A & M University, Certified Coach by International Coaching Community.
He has taught seminars on IFRS at a basic, intermediate level, including banks such as Industrial, which is the largest in Guatemala. Active member of the Association of Public Accountants and Auditors (CPA) and the Guatemalan Institute of Public Accountants and Auditors (IGCPA), holding the IFRS and IAS Commissions from 1999 to date.
