Dr. Zoltán Pályi

Short bio

His qualifications include a degree in economics, a PhD and an MBA. He is a chartered accountant and tax advisor with an IFSR exam and a Certificate in International Treasury Management (CertITM). After graduation, he worked for 4 years at the Department of Turnover Taxes and Duties of the Ministry of Finance, where he was involved in the tax-related aspects of legislation and the approximation of Hungarian and EU laws. This was followed by working as a finance manager at several large multinational companies (PMI, T-Mobile Hungary).

He was Head of Treasury and Tax at Tesco-Global Zrt. from December 2006 to December 2013, while also working as a Financial Controller in 2012. He joined a Hungarian advisory company in January 2014, where he was a tax advisor and the managing partner of the bookkeeping, payroll calculation and accounting division until 2015, when he joined ECOVIS Tax Solutions Kft as a partner. Apart from his extensive experiences in finance, accounting and taxation, he is highly knowledgeable in the areas of FMCG, telecommunications and banking. He has been an honorary associate professor at Szent István University since 2011, where he regularly gives lectures, acts as a thesis reviewer and the member of the final examination board. From 2024, he is a lecturer at the Faculty of Law of ELTE.
