ECOVIS welcomes our new partners from ECOVIS Fuller International CPA and ECOVIS Fuller RKCA FZC with its headquarter in Dubai and further offices in the emirates of Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and Ras Al-Khaimah.

The United Arab Emirates is a country located in the southeast end of the Arabian Peninsula on the Persian Gulf, bordering Oman to the east and Saudi Arabia to the south, as well as sharing sea borders with Qatar and Iran. In 2013, the UAE’s total population was 9.2 million, of which 1.4 million are Emirati citizens and 7.8 million are expatriates. The UAE’s capital and largest of the seven emirates by territorial size is Abu Dhabi. However, the most populous city and emirate in the United Arab Emirates is Dubai, which is located on the southeast coast of the Persian Gulf. The national and official language of the United Arab Emirates is Arabic. English is used as a second language and the largest group of Western expatriates in the city is British. Other languages spoken in Dubai, due to immigration, are Hindustani, Persian, Punjabi, Pashto, Bengali, Malayalam, Sindhi, Balochi, Tulu, Tamil, Kannada, Sinhala, Marathi, Telugu, Tagalog and Chinese, in addition to many other languages.

The economy of the United Arab Emirates is the most diversified economy in the Gulf Cooperation Council and the second largest in the Arab world (after Saudi Arabia). In 2013 the gross domestic product (GDP) summed up to $420 billion (AED1.54 trillion). 71% of UAE’s total GDP comes from non-oil sectors. The top business gateway for the Middle East is Dubai. Since it is expected that the oil reserves of Dubai will be exhausted in 20 years the government made the decision to diversify from oil-reliant economy. Therefore, the largest contributors to Dubai’s economy are real estate and construction (22.6%), trade (16%), and financial services (11%). Due to a large-scale real estate development projects Dubai is home to the tallest skyscrapers and largest projects in the world such as the Emirates Towers, the Burj Khalifa, the Palm Islands and the most expensive hotel, the Burj Al Arab.
