The Sino-German Quality Infrastructure Project (QI Project) is commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi). In addition to the bilateral political work, the cooperation with the private sector forms another important pillar of the project. For this purpose, the QI Project has set up a public fund for supporting innovative projects by the private sector that focus on key topics within the quality infrastructure framework, including product safety, market surveillance, conformity assessment, production conditions and market access. Project proposals in related areas that also contribute to the harmonization of Chinese and international quality infrastructure and the reduction of technical barriers to trade are considered likewise.

The QI Project reserves the right to divide the annual fund budget among several bidders who have successfully submitted suitable project proposals. Please note, that only project proposals with a private sector share of at least EUR 50,000 are accepted and the maximum funding for each company is limited to EUR 200,000 within the project’s entire contract period.

For more information on the tender procedures of the Private Sector Fund, please visit our tender webpage at http://www.giz.de/en/workingwithgiz/bidding_procurement.html. Please submit your completed documents by June 30, 2014 to vel@giz.de.
