For the first time in China, the EMTE-EASTPO Machine Tool Exhibition was held at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre from the 14th until 17th of July 2014. This international event represents one of the world’s largest exhibitions on machinery and machine tools and attracted more than 650 exhibitors from all around the world, especially from Europe, to Shanghai this year.

intro

This large number of European exhibitors comes from their continuously dominant position on the global machinery market and in related segments. Besides European and other overseas companies, numerous domestic Chinese firms also displayed their products to the public – this underlines the increasing importance and rising competitiveness of local machinery manufacturers.

The purpose of partnering for this exhibition was to provide a platform for machinery manufacturers, suppliers and interested visitors to network and build new business relationships, increase potential sales, share knowledge and discuss latest trends. The four-day event attracted an estimated 50,000 visitors from China, Europe and other parts of the world.

As the machinery sector represents one of ECOVIS China’s areas of expertise, the exhibition offered plenty of opportunities for the company to improve its understanding of the latest machine tools and expand its network in the global machinery market.

IMG_1998In order to fully leverage these opportunities, ECOVIS Beijing and ECOVIS Ruide Ltd. jointly visited the fair on 16th and 17th of July. Mr. Gary Peng and Mrs. Season Hu (both Manager CPA) from the Shanghai office were joined by two colleagues of the Business Development team from Beijing.

Since many of the exhibiting companies were SMEs from Europe, ECOVIS China learned about the potential that these companies see in China, the problems that they face and the business strategies that they apply.

After the event, the ECOVIS team from both offices in Shanghai and Beijing agreed that the exhibition had provided valuable insights, plenty of new contacts and that itwas an overall success.
