(February 27th, 2014)

By ECOVIS Beijing China

Ecovis Seminar IIT CIT VAT Richard Hoffmann and Grace Shi Yesterday was an exciting day for Ecovis Beijing. Hosted at the German Centre in the Landmark, Grace Shi and Richard Hoffmann presented an informative and interactive presentation on the exciting changes with the VAT Refund, as well as providing further details on corporate income tax and individual income tax.It was a full house seminar. The presentation was split into two parts and like the “fairness of life” as Richard humorously calls it, although equal in importance, it was not equal in terms of length.

Richard Hoffman started off the presentation with a short yet entertaining overview of the development of the VAT Reform since the 1980’s, and then continued into further detail with the changes and the impacts on companies today. The section was summarized with two case studies giving us a more realistic understanding of what the legal changes actually mean.

Grace presented the second part with a more technical and explanatory presentation style. She went through the details and requirements of two hot topics: annual corporate income settlement and annual individual income tax settlement. Engaging the audience with both theoretical explanations and practical examples, the group learned a great deal regarding the spoken topic. Calculations were even given to the group to reassure understanding, giving the group a chance to further engage themselves in the seminar.

It was a fun and enlightening evening for those who attended.
