Last Friday on the 19th of September 2014, Ms. Manuela Reintgen from Ecovis Beijing participated in a panel discussion held for MBA students of the University of California at Peninsula Hotel in Beijing. Since the topic was focused on the reality of doing business in China, Ms. Manuela Reintgen did not miss the chance to participate as an expert in this field. In cooperation with two other panellists she gave valuable advice and shared her first-hand experiences.

After a brief self-introduction by the three panellists the floor was opened to the students’ questions. All of the panellists possess several years of China experience, Ms. Manuela Reintgen for example is living and working in Shanghai and Beijing for nearly five years now.

The questions raised during the discussion covered a broad range of topics. The students were excited to know everything ranging from the competitiveness and innovation of Chinese workers to social issues including chances for women in the Chinese labour market, and the retirement situation in China.

Since the students were especially interested in gaining insight on the living conditions as a foreigner in China, the three panellists had a bunch of private anecdotes to tell. Ms Manuela Reintgen contributed a set of stories from the legal point of view drawing an overview of challenges and chances when setting up a business in China.
