Successful M&A transaction in the Czech telecom sector

At ECOVIS CEE Group, we believe in doing business the right way. Mergers and acquisitions are not just a strategic objective; they are a powerful tool for driving growth, enhancing competitiveness and building long-term value. This approach was recently demonstrated to be successful by our Czech colleagues at ECOVIS Corporate Finance CZ, a Prague-based advisory firm and proud member of the ECOVIS CEE Group, in a transaction they carried out.

Jan Slaby, a partner at ECOVIS Corporate Finance CZ, advised the owners of JON.CZ and KATRO SERVIS on the sale of their businesses to PODA, one of the Czech Republic’s leading telecommunications service providers. PODA operates nationwide, serving over 120,000 internet customers and offering a comprehensive range of data, TV, and IT solutions.

JON.CZ and KATRO SERVIS are both well-established regional telecoms operators providing broadband and data transmission services primarily in the Kolín, Poděbrady and Semily regions. Together, they serve over 20,000 clients, including households and businesses.

The transaction was successfully completed in just four months, demonstrating the efficiency of the process and the strong coordination between those involved. The deal highlights the ongoing consolidation trend in the Czech telecoms market, where the growing demand for faster connectivity and digital infrastructure is driving dynamic M&A activity.

This project perfectly illustrates how the experience, cooperation and local market insight of the ECOVIS CEE network translate into tangible results for our clients. ECOVIS’s combination of international reach and deep local expertise enables us to support entrepreneurs and investors throughout every stage of the transaction process, from strategic planning to execution and integration.
