Tax Partner
Peter joined ECOVIS Wingrave Yeats as a tax partner in September 2010.
He qualified with a five partner firm before moving to Deloitte & Touche in 1989 to specialise in tax. During his career he has also worked for PWC and most recently spent eight years as partner and head of tax at Grant Thornton UK LLP’s Gatwick Office where he was also Office Practice Leader from July 2008 to June 2009.
Over the years he has looked after many high growth entrepreneurial businesses but also larger listed and international groups and worked within specialised M&A teams within PwC, Deloitte & Touche and Grant Thornton. At Grant Thornton he gained extensive experience of taking companies to the AIM market and advising companies during the years leading to admission to AIM or through to a planned exit event.
He believes that tax planning is only truly effective when it is designed to meet both shareholder and corporate short and medium term objectives managing current tax liabilities whilst ensuring that medium term objectives are not compromised. Sector experience includes Financial Services and Insurance, Pharmaceutical, Oil and Gas, Leisure and Media, Manufacturing and Motor Retail.
During his leisure time Peter is a keen cyclist racing in the Surrey League and with the League of Veteran Racing Cyclists. He is also a keen clay shooter and was World Bog Snorkelling Champion in 1999.
