6% Goods and Services Tax (GST) is landing on Malaysia shore and land on 1 April 2015. The threshold for registration is annual taxable turnover exceeding RM 500,000.00.

Duty-free islands of Langkawi, Tioman, and Labuan will be exempted from the GST.

Basically, there are three (3) main types of supplies under Malaysia GST model:

1. (1) Standard Rated Supplies – GST at 6%
2. (2) Zero Rated Supplies – GST at 0%
3. (3) Exempt Supplies – No GST charged
