Munich, 18. November 2013 – KGA Limited of Auckland, New Zealand, has joined Ecovis. The global consulting firm with its origins in Continental Europe is thus represented in 56 countries. Its consulting focus lies in the areas of accounting and auditing, tax, legal and financial advice. The new partner firm provides services in accounting, tax and business consultancy to national clients as well as enterprises from abroad doing business in New Zealand.

ECOVIS KGA Limited was founded in 1989 by Keith Godall, who is one of the three partners. The other partners are Wade Glass who joined in 2011 and Clive Bish who joined in 2013. The firm operates two offices – Auckland (main office) and Warkworth (60km north of Auckland) – and has a total staff of currently 23 employees.

New Zealand is an island country situated some 1,500 kilometres east of Australia in the southwestern Pacific Ocean. The country geographically comprises two main landmasses – that of the North Island and the South Island – and numerous smaller islands. Because of its remoteness, it was settled not before the second half of the 13th century, namely by the Polynesian ancestors of the Maori still living there today. New Zealand has approximately 4.5 million inhabitants. 72 percent of them live in 16 main urban areas and no less than 53 percent in the four largest cities of Auckland, Christchurch, Wellington (the capital), and Hamilton. The country has a modern, prosperous and developed market economy. It was ranked sixth in the 2013 Human Development Index.

The service sector is the largest sector in the economy, followed by manufacturing and construction and then farming and raw material extraction. New Zealand is heavily dependent on international trade. Its principal export industries are agriculture, horticulture, fishing, forestry and mining, which make up about half of the country’s exports. Major export partners are Australia, United States, Japan, China, and the United Kingdom.

The Auckland metropolitan area in the North Island of New Zealand has a population of approximately 1.5 million, which respectively constitute 33 percent of the country’s population. The sub-national GDP of the Auckland region was estimated at 36% of New Zealand’s national GDP, 15% greater than that of the entire South Island. Auckland is in many respects New Zealand’s capital for business. It is the home to many major international corporations and most financial and service based businesses. A large proportion of the trade and industrial businesses are based in the industrial zones of South Auckland.
